Structure of the Community Forum
There are 4 Community Fora in County Waterford, 1 for each Electoral Area - Dungarvan, Comeragh, Lismore, Tramore.
All eligible community, voluntary and local development groups are invited to register as members of the Community Forum in their Electoral Area. Each Community Forum, in its own area, elects a 5 person Executive with the exception of the Comeragh Electoral Area (previously Suir & Kilmacthomas) who elect 7 Executives. The Executive members in each area of the 4 areas then sit on the County Community Forum Executive of 23 members. The County Community Forum Executive elects its own officers (Chair; Vice-chair; Secretary and Treasurer) and representatives to Council structures and other community development bodies as required.
Functions of County Waterford Community Forum
County Waterford Community Forum ensures the active and continuing involvement by community groups in the decisions that shape the county's social, economic and cultural development.

The Forum facilitates community input into decision making by the local authority and other development agencies in the county, through its representation, from community and voluntary groups on the ground, to:
- Waterford County Council Area Committees, Strategic Policy Committees and the County Development Board
- Waterford LEADER Partnership, Waterford Community Transport, Waterford Sports Partnership, County Waterford VEC, Waterford County Childcare Committee and the South East Water Framework.
Through Forum structures and activities, increased participation and consultation by the community is facilitated in the areas of social inclusion, arts, culture and tourism and heritage, environment and planning.
