Social Inclusion Forum

County Waterford Community Forum set up a Social Inclusion Forum in early 2004.
The aim of the Forum is to facilitate the inclusion of everyone in all aspects of the social, economic and cultural development of their community.
The Equal Status Act 2000 focuses on nine possible areas of discrimination: gender; marital status; family status; sexual orientation; religion; age; disability; race and membership of the Traveller community.
Sometimes people can't be involved because they don't have enough money or they can't get around very easily or they are the sole carer in their family and need support to become actively involved in society.
Through County Waterford Community Forum, the things that most matter to communities on the ground are heard at the highest level. If you think that your community group is not being heard, then you need to talk with the people in the Social Inclusion Forum and in its umbrella group, the County Waterford Community Forum.
