Date: 26 Feb 2010 Lismore Electoral Area Meeting
On Wednesday 25th March the member groups in the Lismore Electoral Area met at the Lismore Area Forum Meeting in the Cappoquin Community Centre. At the meeting there was a presentation made to Cathy Mc Grath and Ollie Wilkinson, Cappoquin Community Centre for winning the 2009 Community Centres Award. Michael Power and Niamh Budds from Waterford Leader Partnership gave a very informative talk on the LDSIP and Rural Development Programme. Facilitated discussion groups followed the presentation. Issues were raised under the following: Transport & Infrastructure, Economic Development, Community Facilities & Social Inclusion and Community Policing & Drug Awareness. These issues will be fed back to the relevant structures that the Community Forum is represented on.

The Ulster Bank Sir George Quigley Award 2010
The annual Ulster Bank Sir George Quiqley Award aims to support community groups and charities in their ambition to achieve long-term sustainability. Applications are now being accepted from suitable community and voluntary groups from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for this award. There will be one grant of €10,000 or Sterling equivalent to the winning organisation. Closing date: 19 March 2010

Comeragh Community Development Group Fundraising
The Comeragh Community Development Group is holding a fundraising night in Crotty's Inn, Leamybrien on Saturday 6th March. Doors open from 9pm. The band on the evening is El Passo. Please come along and support this worthwhile cause and enjoy a night of dancing.
