Archive NewsCommunity VoiceDate: 09 Jan 2009 Lismore Area Community Forum The Lismore Area Community Forum will hold a meeting for the County Waterford Community Forum Registered Member Groups in the Lismore electoral area in Cappoquin Community Centre, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford on Thursday 22nd January 2008 at 7.30pm (8pm start). All registered community and voluntary groups in the Lismore electoral area are invited to attend this important meeting. The Community Forum will elect a new Voluntary Committee this year and this will be discussed at this meeting. Sinéad O Neill will deliver a presentation on the structure and work of the Community Forum. Other areas of discussion will include, Community Policing and Drug Awareness, Transport in Rural Areas etc. If your organisation is not yet registered with the County Waterford Community Forum, you can register at this meeting. Funding for Architectural and Archaeological Heritage Projects The Dept of Environment, Heritage and Local Government is inviting applications from bodies, such as charities, academic institutions and professional organisations, for funding in 2009 for Architectural and Archaeological Heritage Projects from the Environment Fund The Ray Murphy Fund – Closing Date February 2009 The Community Foundation for Ireland through the Ray Murphy Fund will make funding available to build leadership within the community sector for the next 10 years, 2008 - 2017. The grants will be for a maximum of €4,000 each and 5 grants will be awarded per year. The fund is envisaged to assist people managing organisations within the community and voluntary sector to access leadership - education or training. Applications will not be accepted for courses which are not centrally focused on Leadership Education or Training. The fund will issue grants to organisations to allow individuals to: Attend a course or take an opportunity that will provide time for reflection and skills development that will enhance the community sector.
