Those considering moving to Ireland are advised to contact their nearest Irish embassy or consulate who will be able to advise on whether a travel visa and a work visa or work authorisation is required before coming to Ireland. Anyone with a professional qualification is advised to check with the Irish branch of their professional body as to whether their qualifications are acceptable for use in Ireland. A Newcomer's Guide to the South East
This Newcomer's guide aims to introduce newcomers to all aspects of living in the South East of Ireland including understanding the everyday culture, finding somewhere to live and finding a job. Printed in English, Polish, Russian and Czech, it also refers the reader to other, more detailed sources of information and support. Learning English
English language classes are widely available throughout Waterford. Courses are available from FÁS, Waterford Institute of Technology and County Waterford Vocational Education Committee. In addition a range of private schools provide English Courses.
