Library Development Plan
Invitation for Submissions
Waterford County Council Library Service is presently preparing its Development Plan 2009-2014. The plan will be a framework document to determine and prioritise key areas of Library service development for County Waterford over the next five years.
We would like to invite our customers, members of the public and interested groups to give their views on the future direction of the Library Service in County Waterford.
This is your opportunity to let us know what you want from your library service.The Development Plan will cover a number of key areas including the following:
- Library Buildings: Facilities, Accessibility, and Capacity.
- Library Technology: Software, Hardware, Internet / Online Services, Accessible Technology
- Library Collections and formats: Books, CDs, DVDs and Reference Materials
- Library Service to Rural Areas
- Schools Library Service
- Children’s Services: Books and other materials, Reader Development, Activities, and Teen Space
- Local Studies
- Library Website: Onlines Services www.waterfordcountylibrary.ie
- Reader Development – Book groups, Reader advisory.
- Literacy
- Multicultural Services: Language Courses, Books in Foreign Languages
- Staff and Opening Hours, Membership Fees, Fines and Other Charges

Submissions can also be handed in to your Local Public Library.
The deadline for receipt of submissions is Friday 26th September 2008.
