Blue Flag
Tramore Blue Flag Beach
Tramore Beach was presented with a Blue Flag by Environment Minister Phil Hogan at a ceremony held at Curracloe Beach, Wexford, on Thursday 8th June 2011. Tramore Beach has returned to a Blue Flag status following a gap of nearly 10 years.
The Blue Flag is an international award which is granted on the basis of 32 different criteria, including Water Quality, Environmental Management, Safety and Services, Environmental Education and Information, amongst others.
A ceremony took place at Tramore Beach to mark the occasion and included in the picture below are -
Cllr. Paddy O’Callaghan, County Mayor, Cllr. Ann Marie Power, Mayor of Tramore, Councillors, Council Staff, Lifeguards, Tidy Towns, Tramore Chamber together with beach and surf supporters gather at the hoisting of the flag.
