Register of Interests

Part 15 of the Local Government Act, 2001 requires each member of a Local Authority to submit an Annual Declaration of Interests, before the end of February each year.    The statutory form, which contains details of all declarable interests, includes an undertaking to have regard to and be guided by the Code of Conduct for Councillors and a statement that none of the grounds for disqualification contained in the Local Government Act, 2001 or the Local Elections (Disclosure and Expenditure) Act, 1999 apply.  The Council must maintain a public Register of Interests.    Details of interests declared by members of Waterford County Council may be viewed here:

Local Elections - Disclosure of Donations & Expenses

Section 13 of the Local Elections (Disclosure of Donations and Expenditure) Act, 1999 requires each candidate at a Local Election to submit a statement of Election Expenses to the Local Authority, within 90 days of the Election.     Candidates are also required to submit details of donations.    Unsuccessful candidates must submit details within 90 days of the election, whereas elected Councillors are required to submit an annual Donations Statement.
