The Strategic Policy Committees have been set up to draw in a wider range of people to enhance local democracy. They are indicated by the letters S.P.C.SPC 1 – Environment & Planning
SPC 2 – Transport & Infrastructure
SPC 3 – Housing, Corporate & Emergency Services
SPC 4 – Economic Development & Community Services
SPC 5 – Cultural & Heritage
Other Committees
At the Annual Meeting of the Council, in an election year, Councillors are nominated to serve on various committees and public bodies. Occasionally, during the course of the 5-year term of the Council, nominations will be required to some bodies, however, nomination at the Annual Meeting is the norm. The last Annual Meeting of Waterford County Council, at which nominations were made, took place on 19th June, 2009.
