B&B's with Family History Interest

B&B's with Family History Interest

As part of the Celtic Tri project two training events were organised for tourism providers in County Waterford. The training events which took place in 2005, were organised in order to raise awareness of the potential for family history research in the county. Catherine Nugent, Genealogist-in-Residence with Waterford County Archive provided the training presentations.

Tourism providers who attended the training sessions were provided with information on sources for family history research which are available locally, and through Waterford County Archive Service. As well as examining online resources, trainees were given an opportunity to view archive collections housed in the County Archive that are of particular use to the family historian. Similarly, trainees were offered practical guidance on how they could be of assistance to visitors interested in tracing their Waterford ancestors.
