Waterford County Council is currently preparing a new countywide Arts Plan 2010 – 2015. Written submissions are invited on the areas which the new plan proposes to cover from artists in all disciplines, arts organisations and the general public.

ARTLINKS is pleased to announce a suite of bursaries and awards for its membership in the five ArtLinks partner Counties of Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow for 2010. Director Cathy Fitzgerald remarked that there have been changes in 2010 to the ArtLinks Bursaries to reflect the changed economic climate. While the amounts of funds available for Bursaries has not changed significantly, the Awards have been divided so instead of one main bursary there will be in fact four bursaries, so that more people in the arts can be supported. And new for 2010, in addition to applications being accepted from individual practitioners, applications from art groups are also welcome. Please ensure that applications are submitted in advance of the April 1st closing date.
A whole host of Ireland’s best known musicians are set to perform in Dungarvan’s Town Hall Theatre during 2010. The brand new concert series, “Live at the Town Hall Theatre”, is organised by local musician, Brendan O Ruaidh, aka Ormy.
For the twelfth year, the Arts Office of Waterford County Council is offering a special bursary award to an artist born or currently living in the Waterford County Council Administrative area. The bursary is open to practitioners of all the arts, and there is no age limit.
This is the 13th year of the Molly Keane Memorial Creative Writing Award. The Arts Office of Waterford Co. Council is pleased to announce that it is currently accepting short stories for this competition.
The pupils and teachers of the 4th classes in Holy Cross National School, Tramore, Co. Waterford recently completed Waterford County Council’s Artist in Schools Scheme.
