Recipients of Co. Waterford Artlinks Bursaries announced

Waterford County Council’s Arts Office is pleased to announce details of the recipients of their Artlinks bursaries 2012. These awards were designed to support artists who are resident within the ArtLinks five county partnership region of Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow  and is supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. The Co. Waterford recipients were :

• Jenny Fennessy, Lismore – Theatre Practitioner €1,000
• Margaret O' Brien Moran, Tramore - Photographer €1,000
• Jane Butler, Tramore – Visual Artist €1,000
• Laura Mc Namara, Cappoquin – Visual Artist €1,250
• Derek Flynn, Tramore – Literature €1,000
• Jean Tubridy, Tramore  - Literature €1,500
• Donna McNamara, An Rinn – Visual Artist €1,250

 County Waterford Arts Officer, Margaret Organ said that this year they received the largest amount of applications ever to the scheme and the standard was extremely high. ‘I would like to thank everyone who took the time to make submissions and I urge all artists to register on www.artlinks.ie to be eligible for other supports such as mentoring, future bursaries and opportunities. This website has been recently re-launched and provides opportunities for artists to network between themselves. This is a free service to all artists in the partner counties and Waterford County Council’s is fully committed to this partnership with the other local authorities and the Arts Council.’
