Call for Submissions for new County Arts Plan

New Arts Plan for County Waterford – Call for Submissions
Waterford County Council is currently inviting written submissions on the areas which the new arts plan proposes to cover from artists in all disciplines, arts groups and organisations and the general public which will help to inform policy for the new County Waterford Arts Plan 2010- 2015.
Please forward your submission to:
The Arts Office, Waterford Co. Council,
Civic Offices, Davitts Quay,
Dungarvan, Co. Waterford on or before 25th March 2010.
Why have an Arts Plan?
- To place the Arts centrally as an integral part of local authority provision.
- To provide a mechanism and framework to develop the arts and to argue for associated funding.
- To take a planned and realistic approach to the Arts in Co. Waterford
Areas covered under the new Arts Plan will include:
- Support for arts organisations
- Support for artists
- Management of arts programmes and projects
- Establishing and maintaining partnerships
- Provision of information and advice
- Civic Art Collection & Percent for Art Scheme
- Arts Infrastructure
- Networking, Advocacy and Planning
- Access to Arts practice
- Access to Information
- Establishing and resourcing an integrated Arts Service
Artforms to be covered under the new Plan:
- Dance
- Drama
- Film
- Literature
- Music
- Traditional Arts (music, song, dance & storytelling)
- Visual Arts (Painting, sculpture, new media etc.)
Cross Artform Practice to be covered under the new Plan:
- Arts and disability
- Local and Community arts
- Public art
- Young people, children and education
