Parent & Toddler Group Initiative 2012
Parent & Toddler Group Initiative 2012 Waterford County Childcare Committee is pleased to announce that funding is now availalbe for Parent & Toddler Groups. The Parent & Toddler Grants is administered through Waterford County Childcare Committee for Parents & Toddler Groups in the county. 18 Parent & Toddler groups received funding in 2011, with a total of €6,825 administered to the successful groups. These grants recognize that Parent & Toddler groups provide informal support to parents, grandparents and childminders as well as to children and that these groups are an important source of social contact especially for new parents and families to an area. Parent & Toddler groups who are organized on a not for profit basis and involves parents in the community can make an application for funding. Therefore, if your group would like to apply for Parent & Toddler funding this year, please contact the office on 058 48024 for an application form. It is anticipated that the Parent & Toddler Groups will submitted completed applications forms by 9th March, 2012.

Community Childcare Subvention Scheme (CCCS) The Community Childcare Subvention Scheme (CCSS) is a support scheme for community based services to provide quality childcare services at reduced rates to disadvantaged parents.

Childcare Education & Training Support Scheme (CETS)
Free childcare places are available to eligible FAS & VEC trainees under the Childcare Education & Training Support Scheme. Please refer to the Parents guide Childcare How Much for further information.
Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Scheme - Your Free Pre School Year
The ECCE scheme provides a free pre-school year in a childcare service in the year before children start primary school. The scheme is universal and is open to all parents regardless of income.
If your child was born between February 2nd 2007 and June 30th 2008 you are elibible for a free place from September 2011 and If your child was born between February 2nd 2008 and 30th June 2009 you are eligbile for a free place from September 2012.
