Becoming a member

Membership is open to Female and Male volunteers. It is necessary to complete an Application Form for consideration and in the event of vacancy being available every consideration will be given to each application.

What will be expected of me

The work of Civil Defence requires us to play an active role in the community and you do need to be reasonably active. Some training/disciplines are quite strenuous and it may be necessary to ask applicants to undergo medical examination to confirm their suitability. If you have any questions please contact the Civil Defence Officer.

Working together

Civil Defence is all about people, working together in teams to support our local communities. We do invest a lot of time and resource in our volunteers, but we also understand that time is precious, if you cannot make training or duties then please contact your local instructor or Civil Defence Officer.
Volunteers are free to discontinue their membership at any time and in the event of volunteer not being in a position to attend training, attend duty assigned etc., membership will be deemed to have elapsed.
