A big "Thank You" to all the groups, big and small that took part in this year's campaign.

This year was another very successful one in the county, with approx 40 groups taking part.
The numbers of volunteers are in the hundreds and the amount of bags of litter collected is huge.

All groups would like that their efforts in cleaning up our county is not wasted.

Please Keep our County Litter Free

Litter such as broken bottles and cans left lying around public areas can easily cause injury, while food litter can attract flies and rats which spread disease. Everyone can help - If you See Something, Say Something

Areas that are becoming Litter Black spots.

School Environs.
During visits to the county's Green Schools over the past few months, the students have demonstrated to me  their desire to have a litter free school environment. They work very hard to achieve their Litter Free Status. However, they notice that major littering is happening in the environs of their schools at night and weekends by uncaring and ignorant litter louts.

Our Local Beauty Spots.
Volunteers who give their time and energy to clean up our county during National Spring Clean Month, and those involved with Tidy Towns report on the appalling littering evidence they find. . The remains of a "day out" such as Nappies, Cigarette Buts, "Clean out the Car", remains of picnics, parties, left at our beauty spots is not acceptable and is taken as a sign of disrespect to those communities that are plagued with this behaviour.
