30 Dec 2011 - New Smoky Coal Regulations 2011

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government has made new regulations under the Air Pollution Act, 1987 (Marketing, Sale and Distribution of Fuels) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 which limits the maximum sulphur content of bituminous (or ‘smoky’) coal to no greater than 0.7% outside the 'Smoky Ban' Area.
