31 Jan 2012 - Primary School - Make it Yourself - Grow it Yourself Project

Waterford Festival of Food in conjunction with Waterford County Council, GIY, Glanbia and Primary Schools in County Waterford are participating in a Project called Make it Yourself - Grow it Yourself. This is a two part project which involves the following - a) Construct a GIY container from recycled / reused materials and must be mobile by first week in March. b) Plant up the containers with a view to presenting pot and plants at a review ceremony on Thursday April 12th in Walton Park.

10 Nov 2011 - Wetlands Remediation Project - Ballygunnermore / Castletown / Kilmacleague

Waterford County Council would like to inform residents of the Ballygunnermore, Castletown and Kilmacleague areas that they will shortly commence works on the remediation of wetlands in these areas. Residents of these areas are invited to an Open Evening which will be held on Tuesday 15th November 2011 in Ballygunner NS (St. Mary’s) between 5pm and 8pm where the project team will be on hand to provide additional information and to answer queries.

18 Nov 2011 - Blue Flag Beach Photography Competition 2011

Waterford County Council invited local photography enthusiasts to take part in our Blue Flag Beach Photography Competition in August 2011. This photography competition was aimed at promoting Waterford County Council’s Blue Flag Beach Campaign. Entrants were advised to highlight the positive benefits that a Blue Flag Beach status brings to our beaches that are enjoyed by all.The competition was open to both adults (18 years and over) and juniors (under 18 years)
