Derelict Sites

In brief - a Derelict Site means:
• Any land which may have buildings on it which are derelict or dangerous
• Any land which is in an unsightly, neglected or objectionable condition
• Any land with a deposit or collection of litter, rubbish, debris or waste on it, where there is no permit or right to have such a deposit or collection.

Waterford County Council is responsible for dealing with derelict sites within the functional area. You are required by law to make sure your property does not become derelict. If it does, you must take steps to remedy the situation. Otherwise, you are liable for prosecution by Waterford County Council.
