Who can apply?

Students eligible to apply are those who are first-time undergraduates attending a full-time course with a minimum duration of two years. Some postgraduate students can apply, but please check the guidelines.
Undergraduates must be at least 17 years of age on 1st January, 2008 and have been resident in County Waterford from 1st October 2006.
Students must have fulfilled the Leaving Certificate requirements of the chosen course. They must be a national of an EU country, have official refugee status or have been granted humanitarian leave to remain in the State.

How to apply

The Application Form and Notes for the Higher Education Grants Scheme 2009/2010 will be available here for information purposes only, new versions will be available as soon as we receive them from the Department of Education & Science.

The closing date for acceptance of Higher Education Grants application forms is 31st August 2009.

The Guidelines Document 2009 (344 kbs) gives you all the information you need to support your application.

For undergraduate courses, you will also need either FA1 Form 2009 - 2010 (46 kbs) or SA1 Form 2009 - 2010 (51 kbs).
