What is Involved?

Estate Management is all about creating opportunities for your involvement in your estates and communities through the establishment of vibrant communities, sustainable neighbourhoods, and the encouragement of pride of place for all.

The desired outcome of Estate Management includes;

  • increased responsibility and participation for you as residents in the running of your estates – a new form of partnership.
  • improved relationships between the council and you as tenants/residents.
  • improved service delivery.

Waterford County Council encourages you as tenants to become involved in resident’s groups/associations in your area.  Such groups/associations facilitate the promotion of your interests as residents, both individually and collectively and enable a two-way working relationship between the Council and you. We place great importance in listening to your opinions about our services.

As a group, you can meet on a regular basis and work with the Tenant Liaison Officer, Statutory and Voluntary agencies to improve the social and physical environment of your housing estate. Tenant participation is also encouraged in housing maintenance. Our housing section has initiated a policy where we will attempt to fund projects proposed by residents associations. This could be for lawnmowers, Christmas parties, planting trees and shrubs, landscaping, community Education, drug Awareness/Parenting skills etc. The Tenant Liaison Officer can help with ideas on how to fundraise or with information on local grants available for projects.
