After the Interview - what to expect
The interview board make a recommendation to the County Manager for the advertised position based on the performance at interview.
The interview board may create a panel depending on the number of people they determine to be qualified for the position. If a panel is formed, this will be used for the filling of future suitable vacancies in the County Council during the life of the panel, which is usually for one year from the date of interview.
The Human Resources Department will make contact with candidates in writing as soon as possible after the interview informing them of their result. It is not the policy of Waterford County Council to give results over the phone unless the person is known to the Council in order to protect individual’s confidentiality.
Formal offers of employment are dependent on the receipt of satisfactory references and in some cases a medical. Once an offer of employment is made the successful candidate is expected to be in place no later than one month from the offer.
Please note – Canvassing
Canvassing your Local Councillor or TD to make representations in support of your application can result in you being automatically disqualified from the competition.
