Waterford County Council has a legislative obligation, under the Official Languages Act 2003, to provide services in the Irish language to the public of equal standard to those provided through English.

Our Customer Charter commits to “providing, you, our customers, with the best possible service, in an efficient and courteous manner.” It also states that Waterford Local Authorities will “aim to ensure that customers who wish to conduct their business through Irish can do so.”

This section of the site outlines Waterford Local Authorities’ various activities in support of the Irish language. If you have any query on any of the Council’s Irish language services, or if you would like to conduct your business in Irish, you can contact us on gaeilge@waterfordcoco.ie
