Development Contribution Scheme rates for 2011
As the Development Contribution Scheme is being reviewed in full in 2011/2012, it has been decided that the 2010 rates will also apply to applications received after 1st January 2011. These rates will be applicable until the new scheme is adopted.

The contribution rates payable are adjusted each year in accordance with the Wholesale Price Index. The indexed rates are subject to a cumulative increase of 11.5% as per Section 5 of the Development Contribution Scheme 2008 - 2012. The Planning and Development Act 2000 provides for the drawing up by a planning authority of a Development Contributions Scheme for its area of jurisdiction or for parts thereof.
Such a scheme permits planning authorities, on granting planning permission under Section 34 of the Act, to include conditions requiring the payment of a contribution in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the Planning Authority, and that is provided, or intended to be provided by, or on behalf of, the Local Authority, regardless of other sources of funding for the infrastructure and facilities.
