The Department publishes a series of leaflets on all aspects of the planning system and these are available free of charge from the Department or from planning authorities (click here to access them). The GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF IRELAND (GSI), founded in 1845, is the National Earth Science Agency. It is responsible for providing geological advice and information, and for the acquisition of data for this purpose.
