At the July Council meeting, Waterford County Council adopted a new policy for the Taking In Charge of private housing developments. This policy will govern the circumstances under which the Council will take responsibility for the public infrastructure in an estate or other private housing development (e.g. roads, footpaths, public lighting, sewerage, etc).

This document should be read when completing the relevant Taking In Charge Application Form.
