This County Development Plan was formally adopted on 11th July 2005. It was prepared over a two-year period in accordance with the procedure set out in the Planning and Development Act 2000.The Plan formally came into operation on 8th August 2005.

It is a six-year development Plan for County Waterford that sets out Waterford County Council's planning policy for the county for that period. The Plan, which may be subject to interim variations, will remain in place until 2011.
