Energy Self Supply in Rural Communities
E.N.S.R.C. Project is part funded by Intelligent Energy Executive Agency and by project Partners under Alternar Programme. ENSRC ProjectTo define the incentives and barriers to energy self supply in rural communities. Define what further incentives are necessary and what actions are required to remove or circumvent barriers. To establish a pilot rural self supply co-operative in each of the four countries (Ireland, Portugal, Wales U.K., Bulgaria) and provide technical & administrative support for these co-operatives for their first year of operation. This project is supported by the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme. Energy Self Supply Co-operatives aim to support farmers and rural dwellers in developing locally available sustainable energies for electricity generation, heat production and in producing sustainable fuels and in the short term developing a self supply in energy and then in the longer term developing a market for renewable energy.
