Capital Investment Programme

Capital Investment Programme (WSIP)

The Water Services Investment Programme (WSIP) 2010 – 2012 was launched in April 2010 and incorporates a total of 20 schemes of which 11 are due to go to construction in the period of the programme and the other 9 are to progress through planning stage. The estimated cost of the schemes to go to construction is c.€76m.  The cost of the schemes to progress through planning stage is not included in the current WSIP.

There are 2 new schemes included under the revised WSIP and these are Passage East Sewerage Scheme and Clonea Power Sewerage Scheme.

There are 7 schemes no longer funded under the WSIP 2010-2012 when compared with the previous WSIP 2007-2009. These schemes are as follows:

  • Bunmahon Sewerage Scheme
  • Clashmore Collection System
  • Clonmel & Environs Water Supply Scheme
  • Dunhill Sewerage Scheme
  • Faithlegge Water Supply Scheme
  • Kilmacthomas Water Supply Scheme
  • Portlaw Water Supply Scheme

Of these, the responsibility for Clonmel & Environs Water Supply scheme now lies solely with South Tipperary County Council. The remaining six schemes are no longer prioritised under the WSIP 2010-2012. However, should these schemes become a high priority during the lifetime of the programme, then the Council may seek approval to progress them.
