Wastewater Treatment

Wastewater Treatment

Wastewater treatment is a process of sanitising wastewater and household sewage by removing contaminants. The goal of wastewater treatment is to produce environmentally safe, treated effluent and a solid waste (known as treated sludge), which can be safely disposed of or reused as fertilizer. This is achieved through a range of physical, chemical and biological processes.
