To help sustainable developmentThe wastewater infrastructure in some of the smaller villages will need to be upgraded. These villages include An Sean Phobal (Old Parish), Rathgormack, Clonea-Power, Fews, Ballymacaw and Annestown. While these villages are not currently included in the national Water Services Investment Programme, the requirement for an upgrade in sewerage infrastructure has been recognised and potential solutions need to be found. Waterford County Council is currently acquiring the services of a competent Consulting Engineer experienced in the design of Wastewater Collection, Delivery, Treatment and Disposal to prepare a Strategic Report to include Treatment Plant site selection and details of the required discharge standards for the improvement and upgrading of the existing sewerage schemes servicing the aforementioned villages and their environs. The report will also assess the capacity of the receiving waters to cope with the treated effluent. |
